Connect Group PLC gains bronze award for payroll giving

The Payroll Giving Quality Mark is a government scheme aimed at increasing the quantity of employees who give to charity through their pay, and recognises those companies which actively promote and contribute to payroll giving.

A bronze award is a fantastic achievement, and a clear indication of Connect Group’s commitment to encouraging staff to donate. It is only awarded to companies that offer a payroll giving scheme to its employees; in 2015, more than 4% of the company’s workforce is giving to charity through pay.
Connect Group actively promotes two payroll giving schemes to its staff – Give as You Earn and Pennies from Heaven.

Give as You Earn is the most popular payroll giving scheme in the UK, helping over 3000 companies each year. It allows employees to make regular tax-free donations to a charity of their choice each month.
Pennies from Heaven rounds down employees’ net pay to the nearest pound, and the remaining pennies are donated directly to the Group’s chosen charities, Cancer Research UK and Whizz-Kidz. No employee will ever donate more than 99p per pay day, but added together they can turn pennies into pounds.
