Smiths News launches free mobile app for retailers

Wednesday 20th August 2014

Smiths News is delighted to announce the launch of its first mobile app ‘SNapp’, which will allow retailers to manage their newspaper and magazine supplies at a touch of a button.

Free to download from Apple’s App Store and Play Store, the app demonstrates Smiths News’ commitment to improve customer experience and its capabilities in developing a cutting-edge mobile application that will help retailers run their business. Smiths News will use SNapp to communicate in a different way with its customers. Retailers will be kept up-to-date via their SNapp inbox and will receive important delivery information from their local Smiths News distribution team, plus news on sales opportunities.

The new easy-to-use app gives retailers the control and flexibility to manage their newspaper and magazine supplies – anytime, anywhere. It allows retailers to manage their deliveries, claim for any missing titles or credit and organise their range - including ordering extras and new titles.

Built to link up ‘live’ with Smiths News’ market-leading SAP system, there’s no waiting time for amending orders - customers can make real-time updates via SNapp; making it a vital tool for retailers whose time is precious.

Jonathan Bunting, Managing Director, Connect News & Media commented:

“We are delighted to offer a free mobile app which will help retailers run their business by managing their newspaper and magazine supplies more efficiently. SNapp was developed in partnership with our retail customers to ensure it meets their needs, and so far feedback has been really positive. I’m certain that those retailers who decide to use SNapp will find it quick, easy and convenient.”

One of the first SNapp users, Mr S Daley, Sarbs Convenience Store said:

“SNapp is a fantastic tool for retailers. It helps me to run my business. I’m really happy using SNapp and would recommend it.”
