Tuffnells brings hope, laughter and smiles to children at Birmingham Hospital

Friday 30th December 2016

Staff from the Coventry depot donated over 75 gifts to children at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital last week.

The presents, which were contributed by the Depot team at Tuffnells Parcels Express, were handed out by Santa when he visited the children on Christmas morning, and the Birmingham Hospital Charity could not have been more grateful:

“We can’t thank Tuffnells enough for thinking of us this Christmas. Our hospital charity relies on the generous support of the community and we hope it brings you some Christmas cheer to know that you’ve brought hope, laughter and smiles to the faces of our little stars.”

Mick Dewhurst, General Manager at Tuffnells Coventry explains that it was his night shift team who came up with the idea but then other members of the Depot team got involved and it became a whole Depot effort:

“The team wanted to do something to support the community and this seemed like the perfect idea at this important time of year. I felt very proud when we dropped the gifts off at the hospital, knowing that my team had made such a difference. It doesn’t matter how big or small the contribution, I am sure all the gifts were very welcome on Christmas morning.”

And the team even made a special trip to the George Elliot Hospital in Nuneaton, so the local children staying on the unit could share in the Christmas spirit too.
